Many gamers underestimate the mobile market. Yet a lot of games are now played on mobile phones. But which games will be worthwhile in the coming year? We take a look at a few candidates.

The year 2023 will certainly excite many gaming fans on consoles and PCs. But small devices like mobile phones also have a huge market.

According to Newzoo, mobile gaming accounts for more than half of the entire revenue in the gaming sector. Of course, many games with in-game purchases are to blame for this.

But which games can mobile gamers look forward to in 2023? We’ve collected a few titles:

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile

With Modern Warfare 2, the Call of Duty series took a trip down memory lane – but since 2020, there has been a popular Battle Royale spin-off with the free-to-play title Warzone.

In the future, Warzone will also be available on mobile devices. Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is planned for Android and iOS devices in 2023. In addition, it will be possible to take the Battlepass from the other current CoD titles into the game.

Unlike Call of Duty: Mobile, Warzone Mobile is a separate project that is being developed with its own teams.

Assassin’s Creed: Codename Jade

Assassin’s Creed is one of the biggest franchises in single player gaming. On console and PC, the AC titles have many fans. At the in-house show Ubisoft Forward, the developer announced several new games.

Among them is Codename Jade. It is supposed to be the first full-fledged mobile game in the AC universe. It’s heading to China – just like back in 2015 with Assassin’s Creed Chronicles. When Codename Jade will be released – and whether it will finally be called that – is still unknown.

You can explore the open world with your own character and get the full Assassin’s Creed feeling. Whether this will also work on small six-inch screens in the end will probably become clear in 2023.

Path of Exile Mobile

The free-to-play RPG game Path of Exile has been out for a while. Gamespot named it “Game of the Year” in 2013. But fans have been waiting for a sequel for a long time.

In 2023, there will be a second part as well as a mobile spin-off of the dark action setting. The official announcement trailer is already three years old – but perhaps fans will be able to enjoy it next year.

There is no release date. Announced is first gameplay for ExileCon 2 in August 2023.

Warcraft Arclight Rumble

Action strategy in the Warcraft universe? Blizzard is currently working on this with Warcraft Arclight Rumble. You can already register in advance for Android.

The game will pit you against friends in PVP and co-op. There will also be a single-player campaign in the game. Blizzard has had a hard time with Warcraft releases, but maybe it will work better on mobile phones.

The mobile game year definitely has a lot in store for gamers. Which games will prevail in the end remains to be seen. What is clear is that gaming is no longer just done at the desk or on the couch.
