Well-known insider Tom Henderson has leaked not just one new Assassin’s Creed, but several. And this just before Ubisoft’s big livestream announcement. In the meantime, there is also information on the release dates.
No new Assassin’s Creed without a previous leak. Tom Henderson is considered one of the most reliable insiders in the industry. His hit rate isn’t 100 percent, but if he’s not leaking new Assassin’s Creed projects even a week before Ubisoft’s big livestream show, Ubisoft Forward, the odds are pretty high that there’s something to the story.
Update as of September 7, 2022: Meanwhile, Henderson has also commented on the release dates of the three new AC projects . According to this, the games are to be released as follows:
- Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be released in 2023.
- Assassin’s Creed Red (with Japan scenario) is scheduled for 2024.
- Assassin’s Creed Witch (set in the late Middle Ages) was originally scheduled for release in 2025, but the release has been pushed back to 2026, according to information from the source.
Henderson not only leaks a new Assassin’s Creed – that already happened with Assassin’s Creed Mirage a few days ago – but three more AC games as well as a VR project. Whew. Let’s go through the leaks, the source is there by the way (on Henderson’s own blog).
For those wondering about release dates;
I’ve heard Mirage is 2023, Project Red is scheduled for 2024 and Hexe was intended for 2025, but has been pushed to 2026. https://t.co/pWYWuHyyDe

- Assassin’s Creed Red doesn’t have an official name yet, but will be an Assassin’s Creed in feudal Japan. Means: Samurai, Shinobi, basically exactly what fans have wanted for years. Unlike in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, you will again be able to choose the gender of your character.
- Assassin’s Creed Witch: There were already rumours about this. Project Witch (another code name) will be an Assassin’s Creed set in 15th century late medieval Europe. It is supposed to be the darkest Assassin’s Creed yet.
- Project Jade will be a standalone mobile version of Assassin’s Creed set in China Henderson is not yet revealing the exact era, nor any details about the gameplay.
- Project Nexus is supposed to be anAssassin’s Creed VR game. However, Henderson doesn’t yet know if that will be announced as part of the upcoming show or sometime after.
So along with Assassin’s Creed Mirage, we’re talking three big new Assassin’s Creeds in addition to a mobile game and a VR project. Plus Valhalla gets another DLC for all you Norse mythology fans. Tight package. If you’re interested in the current state of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, check it out here:
