40 years after Part 1, the Karate Kid is being continued. Now there are first pictures of the new movie, which is already scheduled to start in 2025.

There is a new Karate Kid! The newcomer Ben Wang has prevailed against more than 10,000 other applicants to be trained in martial arts by Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio.

After the first poster for Karate Kid Legends appeared in October, the first images of the trio are now following. And anyone who grew up with Jackie Chan; is unlikely to recognize the now 70-year-old actor and martial arts expert.

The finished film will be released in cinemas on May 29, 2025. Jonathan Entwistle, who previously directed the Netflix productions The End of the F***ing World and I Am Not Okay With This, is responsible for the direction.

In Karate Kid Legends, Jackie Chan returns as Mr. Han, who taught Jaden Smith in the 2010 reboot. But Ralph Macchio is also part of the new installment, who of course played the key role of Daniel LaRusso in the first three movies and the Netflix series Cobra Kai

Karate Kid Legends will be a meeting of generations, with young actor Ben Wang (American Born Chinese, Mean Girls, MacGyver) taking center stage. In the first trailer, which was shown at Comic Con in New York, they also pay tribute to the actor who played Mr. Miyagi, Pat Marita (via Deadline), who died in 2005.

Karate Kid Legends starts in German cinemas on May 29, 2025. The grand finale of the Netflix series Cobra Kai was recently aired – season 6 – part 3 will follow in February of next year. Meanwhile, a spin-off is actually already in the works, which will tell the story of Mr. Miyagi.
