Warthorse Studios is announcing another delay to their medieval role-playing game, but this time it’s earlier. The reason is probably another game.
Stalker 2, Starfield, Avowed: Many big games have had to be postponed again in recent months and years after the release date was announced. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 also moved from a release at the end of 2024 to February 11, 2025. But even this date is now no longer correct. The medieval role-playing game will be released a week earlier, on February 4, 2025.
Why the delay?
The developers are sharing this message on X (formerly Twitter), among other places, where they are also announcing further news
Big news: Kingdom Come: Deliverance II will arrive at your homes on FEBRUARY 4TH 2025!⚔️
With the release date pushing one week forward, we have a bunch of more exciting news coming in the following days.

But why go to all the trouble of postponing the release by a few days? Tobias Stolz-Zwilling from Warhorse Studios hints at the reason in the video: So that you can start 2025 with the best game there is
Most likely, the developers just want to beat the other high-profile releases in February. Not only would Kingdom Come: Deliverance have been released three days after the original release date of Assassin’s Creed: Shadows Kingdom Come: Deliverance would also have been released on the same day as Civilization 7
It is not without reason that the developers fear they would otherwise have to share the attention of players with these two long-awaited games.
What else has been announced?
In their video, the developers of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 have a lot more news to report:
- The role-playing game has now reached gold status. This means that the game is finished and from now on the main focus will be on optimizing, testing and debugging bugs.
- A new story trailer will be released on the evening of December 5. A teaser will be shown during the , which starts at 9pm.
- The system requirements for PC will be released at the same time as the trailer.
- There will be a performance and a quality mode on the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X.
