Knights of Honor 2: Sovereign is a real-time strategy game that can be most closely compared to the Total War games. You take control of an empire of the European Middle Ages and let it rise (not always historically correct) to a great power. On a large strategy map, you manage your cities, forge alliances, trade and sabotage your enemies with spies.

If it comes to a battle between one of your armies and an enemy, you switch to a battle map like in Total War and lead your units in real-time battles. In the trailer, the developers show the game principle using Bohemia as an example.
