The series is set in Kamurochō and tells the story of the main character Kazuma Kiryu between the years 1995 and 2005. As such, it serves as a prequel to the video games, which only begin in 2005. Directed by the acclaimed Masaharu Take, Ryoma Takeuchi slips into the role of Kiryu. We follow him through the central stages of his life and learn how he transforms into a fearless, principled yakuza warrior.
During the panel, viewers were surprised with exclusive clips. These showed the performances of Ryoma Takeuchi as Kazuma Kiryu and Kento Kaku as Akira Nishikiyama. There was also a video message from executive producer Masayoshi Yokoyama. He shared behind-the-scenes insights into the making of the SEGA video game “Like a Dragon”. These personal insights emphasized the deep connection and passion that went into the development of the series. He commented as follows:

Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be streamed exclusively on its platform in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide from October 24. In Japan, the series will be available from October 25.
