After two teasers, it’s now official: The first major content update for Lost Ark is coming as early as March. Included is the Argos Raid.
The speculations have already come to an end: (Amazon announces the March update) officially – and confirms our suspicions at the same time. The content update brings the story episode Kadan and the first Abyss Raid called Argos into the game. We provide you with the details on the two major new features.
Table of Contents
Story Episode: Kadan – with new areas
Those who have already completed the previous story campaign of Lost Ark can look forward to a new episode in March. In the new episode, you will go in search of the eponymous Kadan, the first Guardian Slayer, and the final Ark.
However, before you can embark on this adventure, you will have to complete a number of tasks: You must have completed the story on the continent of Feiton, as well as quests in Yorn and on the Whispering Isles. But that’s not all, because even then you won’t be allowed to interact with Kadan’s story right away.
Instead, with an item level of at least 1,100, you’ll head to the new Illusion Bamboo Islands, where you’ll complete another series of quests. And only then do you actually get to Kadan and another new area called Isteri.
Abyss Raid: Argos is waiting for you
Those who have already reached the endgame of Lost Ark already know the Abyss Dungeons. There’s another step up from that, the Abyss Raids. With Argos, the first real challenge awaits you in March, provided you have reached the necessary item level by then.
In the Abyss Raids, you and seven other players will face a particularly difficult boss. A total of three phases await you, during which you are also under a time limit and do not have infinite resurrections.
At least you don’t have to complete all the stages at once: instead, the stages are based on a different item level and you can earn one reward per individual stage per week.
Once Argos is available, you will be able to start the raids via the Abyss Raid Statue in the major cities of Lost Ark.
When is the big patch coming?
According to Amazon, the big update is planned for March – but there is no exact date at the moment. But it should follow soon. This also applies to a detailed roadmap, which should show many of the planned innovations for the next few months. We will of course keep you up to date on this.
Original message from 02 March, 11:33 am:
Lost Ark has only been released in Europe for a little more than two weeks and many of you have by no means seen all the content yet.
Nonetheless, there could already be new content in the near future: Amazon started to publish the first teasers on Twitter. We tell you what is probably behind these hints.
What does the first teaser show?
The teasers are two special gifs that Amazon released on Lost Ark’s official Twitter account during the night. The first teaser shows a head with powerful antlers, which are adorned with glowing embellishments:

Amazon itself does not provide any further information on this. Nevertheless, the teaser allows for speculation: The antlers apparently belong to a boss named Argos, which does not yet exist in the western version of Lost Ark.
Argos is the final boss of an Abyss dungeon, which was added to the Korean and Russian versions of Lost Ark later as an update. In the dungeon you fight a huge stag, which demands a lot from you: You need eight players and have to take on a total of three phases.
A trailer for the Russian version of the content update provides a small insight:
Kadan: The second teaser in detail
The second teaser even features a whole character – albeit only his backside, with the pose and long hair bringing back a few memories of Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7:
– Lost Ark (@playlostark) March 2, 2022
The character shown is most likely Kadan, the first Guardian Slayer. He plays an important role in the lore of Lost Ark and fought alongside King Luterra, among others. He has not yet appeared directly in the game, at least in the European and American versions.
But that could possibly change soon: The teaser is probably a hint that a new story chapter of Lost Ark will open soon, in which Kadan will be the focus.
New content, but when?
If the teasers do indeed indicate that a major content update is coming soon, then this would not be too surprising as it seems at first glance. Director Keum Kang Sun already spoke in advance that the Argos raid should be released after about a month.
If Smilegate and Amazon stick to this date, then the update can be expected in the current month of March. So far, however, there has been no announcement aside from the teasers as to whether this will actually be the case.
Instead of new content, there will first be a new patch on Thursday, 3 March, which is supposed to simplify the current endgame of Lost Ark. This does not necessarily meet with much approval:
