For over a month, players have been asking for a preview of upcoming content. After several postponements and an incorrect roadmap, there is now first info.
In the community of Lost Ark more and more frustration is building up and this is mainly due to the repeatedly postponed preview of upcoming content besides a disappointing update and the problems with the time change.
At the beginning of March, a false roadmap was circulated, which Amazon promptly declared to be outdated. One month later, there is still no official content plan, but at least there is a small status report with words of comfort.
The MMO Lost Ark continues to enjoy high player numbers and, according to (steamcharts.com), lost just nine percent of its population in the last 30 days.
This is what the roadmap will offer
In a (official blog post), the developers affirm they were just putting the finishing touches on the April and May schedule. They realise that players have been waiting for a long time and that it is not a very far-looking plan, but they want to make sure that they can deliver what they promised before they release it.
Specifically, the roadmap is said to introduce a lot of new content, including several new classes, raids and continents. At the same time, Smilegate and Amazon make it clear that the weekly updates may continue to include unannounced changes based on player feedback.
This overly cautious attitude speaks to the fact that Amazon and Smilegate don’t want to show themselves any more nakedness like they did with the hastily released Argos raids – not even when announcing upcoming content.
When they abruptly introduced a supposed VR mode the other day, it was unfortunately just an April Fool’s joke. The video is made with so much attention to detail that many people wished it would really come:
How Lost Ark is doing on bots and other issues
Beyond the roadmap, the new Lost Ark blog post talks about the rocky road ahead for the buffing mechanic, the ongoing battle against bots & cheaters, and the first PvP season that recently kicked off. In the future, the ranks will be aligned with the Korean version and allow 200 master ranks.
In the update, the developers react cautiously to criticism that local players are being deprived of skins that have already been released in Korea and ask for enough time to ensure the quality of new skins and to gather further feedback. They also warn against third-party keys, which can have negative consequences for your Steam account.
