What’s in the March update
New Story Quest Series
With the Kadan quest series, you will learn more about the first Guardian Slayer, who plays a big role in the story because he fought alongside the King of Luterra, among others. So far, however, you have not seen him in the game.
During the quest series you will also visit two new areas: The Bamboo Islands and Isteri. You can see what they look like in our gallery.
This is your task now. In the quest series, you will search for the historical man and find out more about the Star Messengers. To start the quest you need to have completed the Feiton area and preferably have a gear score of 1100.
You must also have completed the following quests: “Yorn – Let There Be Light”, “Whisperholm – The Beginning of Our Story”, and “Illusion Bamboo Island – End of Trials”.
New Abyss Raid: Argos
An old MMO wisdom says: No content update without a new dungeon or raid. This is also true for Lost Ark and that’s why you’ll get a new Guardian Raid in which you’ll take Argos by the horns. We have summarised the requirements you need to meet for the new raid and everything else you need to know in a separate article:
New mini-game: The Grand Prize of Arkesia
You know what Lost Ark was missing? That’s right. Car Racing. Except that in the Grand Prix of Arkesia we don’t pose around the bends with our most beautiful mounts, but are transformed into our racing guise ourselves.
Together with six other players, we also compete against a team of seven and try to cross the finish line first, just like in the old racing game. Just like in Mario Kart or other popular races, we are allowed to put obstacles in the way of our opponents.
You can see what this looks like here in a video from the Korean version:
Note: You can only participate in the race if you are level 50. Also, the race has a time limit. It will run until the upcoming April update (about a month). You can register for the race in every major city (except Prideholm) with the respective NPC.
1st Season Ranked PvP
The first PvP season will also start soon. This is the only content that is not yet immediately playable. The Ranked Season will start towards the end of the month. There is no concrete date. Also, you can only join the matchmaking queue in Team Deathmatch mode.
Those who would like to participate in the Ranked Season can now use the time to reach Class 1 in the Exam Arena.
Skins and Login Bonuses
New content here too. You can purchase the (Omen-Skins) in the IngameShop until the April update. There are also new login bonuses to entice you into the world of Arkesia every day. In addition, the server region Western Europe will receive special login bonuses to make it easier for all region changers to catch up.
Bugfixes
The following bugs have been fixed:
- Fixed a Direct X 11 related issue that caused the game client to become unresponsive when switching from windowed mode to full screen mode and using Alt+Tab.
- Fixed an issue with the graphics settings where the “Restore Defaults” button would sometimes set the graphics settings to a higher than intended default setting.
- Fixed some issues with controller support for tutorials and other guides.
- Fixed an issue that made it impossible to drop gems when using a controller.
- Fixed a character creation/customisation issue that caused the “Hello” tattoo to be displayed backwards.
- Fixed an issue with the UI of the fortress estate management where AZERTY keyboard input was not properly supported.
- Fixed an issue where the wrong instruction video for the Abyss Dungeon was playing.
- Fixed issues where players were sometimes unable to hear others, speak, or walk while in raid group chat.
- Fixed an issue that caused the hotkey function for global chat to not work properly.
- Fixed a bug where the Weekly Combat Item Pack indicated that it could be claimed 10 times. This has been changed to indicate the purchase cap of 1 time per week. Although we reported this issue as fixed in our last update, we continued to work on resolving the issue and apologise for any confusion between updates.
- Fixed an issue in the Training Room where the tutorial text for the “Stand Up” move was disappearing too quickly.
- Fixed an issue in the quest “Honest Liar” that prevented players from advancing in quest interactions and NPC dialogues by clicking the mouse.
- Fixed an issue that caused the Ship Skin Selection Chest: Notos Orka to be limited to only one purchase instead of three purchases.
- Fixed an issue with the Fortress Lab UI where additional unlocked research labs were not showing up.
- More minor and backend issues have been fixed.
As you have already read from the update, the developers are already planning the April update, which could probably be similarly extensive. For the time being, you should be provided with the new story, the raid, the PvP season and the minigame.
