Apparently, a Russian Youtuber has managed to get his hands on a MacBook Pro with M4 processor. However, doubts are in order.
It is common knowledge that Apple places great emphasis on ensuring that as little information as possible about its latest products reaches the public before the official launch. However, it is usually the case that insiders leak one or two details in advance.
Unless it’s a fake, what the Russian Youtuber Wylsacom presents in a recent video takes on a new dimension.
M4 with significant performance boost
In contrast, the M4 MacBook is said to achieve 3864 points in the same test.
Unfortunately, the multicore values cannot be compared directly, since the 2023 MacBook appears to be a model with more CPU cores, while the M4 device appears to be the base model.
In any case, a significant performance increase in the single-core area can be seen compared to the M3 generation. However, this is nothing new either, since the values are only slightly higher than those of the current iPad Pro with an M4 processor due to the active cooling.
Device | Geekbench Single-Core | GGeekbench Multi-Core |
MacBook Pro M4 | 3,864 | 15,288 |
iPad Pro M4 | 3,783 | 14,712 |
MacBook Pro M3 | 2,974 | 20,881 |
It seems like a very big coincidence that a Russian Youtuber of all people is receiving such a device, especially since Apple has not officially sold any products in Russia for quite some time. In the end, it could perhaps be a pre-series model or simply a fake.
