In an interview, the Facebook founder bragged about his hours of playing Civ. He is sure: no one can beat him anymore!
It’s always interesting to see what the celebrities of this world have for perfectly normal hobbies and it’s not uncommon for one of them to step forward and show off their video game skills.
In an interview with Pubity, of which you can see a excerpt on TikTok, Facebook founder and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg brags about his numerous hours of playing the strategy game Civilization
I’d be surprised if anyone could beat me
What for mere mortals sounds more like a childhood dream, one still pursued by ten-year-old Pokémon trainers, seems to be an achievable goal for billionaire Mark Zuckerberg.
At least he is quite convinced of it. In the interview, he shares an anecdote from living with his wife Priscilla, who at some point stumbled across his Steam account.
What she saw there is said to have blown her mind:1,000 hours of playing Civilization For Zuckerberg, that’s a lot of experience that puts him close to the level of a grandmaster.
In this game, he aspires to be the best player in the world at some point. He didn’t reveal exactly which civilization he was referring to, though.
I think at some point I should go live on Twitch and play against someone, because I’m very confident that I’m close to grandmaster status.I’d be surprised if anyone could beat me
So he’s not short on self-confidence; not that we doubted it. However, if you look at how many hours other Civ fans have played, Zuckerberg’s 1,000 seem rather mediocre.
If you look up the reviews of Civilization 6 on Steam , it’s not uncommon to come across ratings from players with 2,000 hours or more under their belts. Some of them are even close to the 20,000 mark Zuckerberg will have to fight a few more battles for that.
Playing time alone does not make for skill, but it’s still hard to believe that someone with Zuckerberg’s gaming experience can compete against people who have invested many times more time in the game. Still, no one would be sad to see a game between the Facebook creator and a real Civ veteran on Twitch. What do you think? Could you beat the meta boss? How many hours of gameplay can you flex with? Feel free to write it in the comments!
