The time has come: the last update for the superhero flop Marvel’s Avengers has been released. If you take a look now, you can get almost all the cosmetics for free

No new content and no more updates. Almost three years after its release, Square Enix has abandoned the superhero flop Marvel’s Avengers . With version 2.8, a final major patch was released, which achieved one thing above all: making virtually all previously paid skins and cosmetics available to every player for free.

As a farewell, one last update

Official support end: On 31 March 2023, Marvel’s Avengers received its last update – as the developers announced in a (official blogpost) . Since then, version 2.8 has been available for download, with which bugs have been tackled and balancing adjustments made. However, players can no longer expect further patches apart from a single hotfix, which is to be delivered on 4 April.

Skins now free of charge: Update 2.8 is the last one Marvel’s Avengers will receive. And with it, almost all of the previously paid skins are now available, for which you no longer have to pay real money. In addition, an internet connection is no longer necessary to access the in-game shop.

Important story items still need to be unlocked, however, either by progressing through the campaign or by earning in-game currency. For all players who earned an achievement or trophy before 1 April 2023, there will also be a special Iron Man suit as a parting gift.
Last but not least, with update 2.8, the last real money currency in the form of credits was converted into in-game currency. For the release of the last patch for Marvel’s Avengers, the developers at Crystal Dynamics thanked their fans and for their support:

What’s next for Marvel’s Avengers?

Soon out of the stores: After Update 2.8, Marvel’s Avengers will no longer be sold after 30 September 2023. However, the game will still be available and playable via your own library or Game Pass. However, due to the end of support, the developers cannot guarantee that the game experience will be completely smooth.
