As announced a few weeks ago, Marvel revealed new info on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 during San Diego Comic-Con, including new designs for console covers and controllers. But the absolute highlight was of course the new story trailer, which also anteceded Venom’s newest host.
The new story trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 promises a dramatic chain of events that will test the relationship of our two Spider-Men and those around them.
Similar to the 2007 film, it is revealed that a superhero’s secret identity comes with a heavy price.
While Miles puts off his collage application in favour of fighting crime, Peter has to deal with huge financial burdens. Then, when Kraven’s hunters make New York City unsafe and Peter somehow comes into contact with the symbiote Venom, the situation threatens to escalate fully.
Who is Venom’s new host? The clues are piling up
We remember: In a previously released trailer, the critical health condition of Peter’s best friend Harry Osborn was addressed. This was followed by the Summer Game Fest announcement that they were going to tell a new origin story of Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Now the latest story trailer shows Harry Osborn and his father in possession of the alien symbiote. Shortly afterwards, Venom repeats a sentence previously uttered by Harry himself. So Harry seems to be bonding with Venom to save his own life. Yeah, um. Peter doesn’t have enough emotional baggage yet, does he?!
