Minecraft meets Star Wars

A motivated Star Wars fan has set his sights on great things: Recreate the entire War of the Stars galaxy in Minecraft. Coruscant and Tatooine are already done.

It’s nothing new that creative players let off steam with Minecraft in just about all their creative concerns. Middle Earth has already been recreated, a complete Harry Potter role-playing game or simply “just” a circle has been created. Reddit user vistachess, on the other hand, is a Star Wars fan and wants to bring a galaxy far, far away directly into the block game.

Solo: On Reddit the screenshots of his previously published works have already attracted a lot of attention: With Tatooine and Coruscant, vistachess has already transformed two planets of the War of the Stars universe into maps – in painstaking detail work and also single-handedly.

One year for two planets: It took vistachess a whole year to fill the city planet and the (former) Heart of the Republic with well-known locations such as the Senate, the Jedi Temple or even Dex’s Diner. In the same period, he also filled the deserts of Tatooine with sandcrawlers of the Jawas or recreated the infamous Cantina in Mos Eisley.

Two planets are not enough

For the future visachess has big plans: He wants to make the entire Star Wars galaxy playable in Minecraft with an adventure map. How exactly he defines this, however, remains open. For example, visachess could “only” implement the planets from the films.

After he needed a whole year for two worlds, maybe that’s not such an unrealistic goal. Vistachess already shared first images of his current project. One screenshot shows the planet Naboo – home to Padmé Amidala and Sheev Palpatine.

Play Star Wars in Minecraft yourself: By the way, vistachess provides its planet maps for free download So if you want to have a look at the project personally, you can do so at any time. You might even be able to combine the maps with the official Star Wars DLC for Minecraft

The paid expansion for the block game delivers content and skins from the classic trilogy, as well as the TV series The Mandalorian. Although 12 different planet dioramas are also included here, such as those for Endor, the Death Star or Arvala-7, they are by no means as extensive as the works of vistachess.

What do you think of vistachess’ ambitious project: Will you download his Star Wars planets to have a look? Let us know in the comments.
