11 bit studios, developer of high-profile indie titles such as This War of Mine, Frostpunk, Moonlighter and Children of Morta is always on the lookout for deep entertainment and can now add another flourish to its thriving publishing portfolio thanks to its collaboration with BAFTA award-winning British studio State of Play. South of the Circle is a visually stunning and intriguing narrative experience with a cinematic story set in the 1960s during the Cold War. The title will be released for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
South of the Circle tells the story of Peter. He finds himself faced with life-changing decisions, torn between his career and his true love, and drawn into the hidden conflict between warring military powers. Set in a world defined by the Cold War, the game is reminiscent of a high-quality motion picture thanks to its story that spans past and present, its minimalist style, and its outstanding writing and voice acting. The top-class talent lending their voices to the characters include Gwilym Lee (Bohemian Rhapsody), Olivia Vinall (The Woman in White), Richard Goulding (The Crown), Anton Lesser (Game of Thrones), Adrian Rawlins (Chernobyl) and Michael Fox (Downton Abbey).
“With South of the Circle, it was love at first sight. We were immediately captivated by the game’s narrative and artistic sensibilities. South of the Circle focuses heavily on storytelling inspired by high-class cinema, which makes it somewhat different from our previous titles. We firmly believe that players will immediately understand why we have included this title in our portfolio as soon as they dive into the gripping and emotionally charged story. And we’re delighted to be working with State of Play, as we’ve had our eye on the talented studio for a long time.”
