The developers of ZeniMax introduced the newest chapter of The Elder Scrolls Online last night. Necrom not only brings you two new areas but also a new class.
In The Elder Scrolls Online,
2023 once again consists of an exciting storyline in which you explore two new areas. In contrast to last year, however, the year-long event 2023 consists of “only” three expansions. Instead, there are various smaller updates and a new class, the arcanist.
The launch will be in spring
The new year-round event of The Elder Scrolls Online is called Shadow over Morrowind This starts in March with the DLC Scribes of Fate, which provides you with new PvE content through two 4-person dungeons. In Hall of the Scribestwo corrupted acolytes of the Scribes of Mora await you. In Bal Sunnar you have to deal with time magic.
For PC gamers it already starts on March13 while gamers with Xbox and PlayStation have to be patient until March28
Necrom haunts you in the summer
On 5 June (PC) or 20 June (consoles) the new chapter Necrom continues. While you deal with secret knowledge and the mysteries of the dark elves, you also explore two new locations. One of them is the Telvanni Peninsula On the other hand, you will enter Apocrypha This is the plane of the Realm of Oblivion, claimed by the Daedric Prince of Knowledge
In autumn , a previously unannounced DLC will finally follow, bringing the story of the latest ESO strand to a (hopefully) epic conclusion.
The new class Arcanist
With Shadows over Morrowind ZeniMax introduces the seventh class to The Elder Scrolls Online. This is the Arcanist, who can use powerful runes, tomes of ancient knowledge and the energies of Apocrypha itself. Thus he can cast destructive, defensive or restorative magic
The Arcanist also uses the new combat mechanic Crux, which appears to be a combo system of sorts. To generate Crux, you must use certain class abilities of the Arcanist. You can accumulate Crux up to a certain point and use it up again with other skills. The more accumulated Crux you consume, the stronger the skill becomes.
The Arcanist will be released in June along with the Necrom chapter. More information on the new class can be found here. In addition to the upcoming updates to The Elder Scrolls Online, Redfall, Minecraft Legends and Forza Motorsport were also discussed during the Developer Direct.
