Actually, EA senior recruiter Pete Johnson is looking for a new producer at Codemasters and explains in the official job posting exactly what the work of this position entails. The new Need for Speed title is also said to fall within the scope of the future producer.
Criterion Games has already developed some racing titles for EA. The developer has also been working on the current part of the Need for Speed series for some time now. In between, there were delays because the developer had to help out with the development of Battlefield 2042. Now the Codemasters Cheshire studio, which has officially belonged to EA since last year, is also to be involved in the racing game. The British development studio had only released Grid Legends in December.
According to insider Tom Henderson, the new Need for Speed title is scheduled for release this autumn. Whether Codemasters is now jumping on board to meet this deadline or whether this cooperation was already planned for the long term is not known. In any case, we are looking forward to holding the latest part of the series in our hands soon.
