Netflix has released a first teaser trailer for Terminator: The Anime Series. It should be available to stream as a subscription in 2024
There are now an alarming number of Terminator films, but only one TV series: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, which incidentally gets far too little attention! Now Netflix is also launching its own Terminator series, which is due to start soon.
What you should know about Netflix’s Terminator series
The series currently goes by the admittedly uninspiring name Terminator: The Anime Series
and is scheduled to run on the streaming service sometime in 2024 – there is no specific release date at the moment.
The new Terminator series was already announced in 2021, now there is finally a first, albeit rather meaningless teaser trailer The action will take place shortly before August 30, 1997, the day of reckoning. It centers on a female soldier who fights Skynet in the year 2022 and travels back in time to protect an AI scientist
Mattson Tomlin (The Batman 2, BRZRKR) is responsible for Terminator: The Anime Series as showrunner, screenwriter and producer. He is working together with the Japanese studio Production IG, which was involved in Ghost in the Shell and Attack on Titan, among others

Will Arnie be back?
With or without Arnie? It is not yet known whether Arnold Schwarzenegger will be inspired to make a cameo in the new Terminator series, for example. After the cinema flops Genisys and Dark Fate the actor had actually said goodbye to Terminator and already announced (via Hollywood Reporter) that he would not be returning for a potential Terminator 7.
At the same time, Schwarzenegger and Netflix are now working closely together – for example, in that he Action commissioner
– which is why at least a small return is not completely unlikely.
What are your hopes and expectations for the new Terminator series from Netflix? How much did you like the last movies in the Terminator series? Would you be happy to see new parts for the big screen or can you do without them with a clear conscience? Let us know in the comments!
