What you should know about The One Piece
Here is an overview of the most important information:
- Everything from the beginning:The One Piece starts all over again, with the story being shortened to the most important events in order to appeal to newcomers in particular.
- The end is in sight (for now):A new edition of the East Blue saga is currently being worked on. The story will end as soon as Ruffy, Zorro, Nami, Sanji, Lysop and Chopper leave Logue Town;
- It depends on the fans:Whether it continues after that depends entirely on how well the series is received and how much interest there is in it.
- A wider picture:The picture format corresponds to modern standards – i.e. 16:9 instead of the old 4:3 ratio.
- The platform is of course fixed:The One Piece will run exclusively on Netflix.
The new 20-minute behind-the-scenes video now shows exactly what The One Piece will ultimately look like. And the manga creator Eiichiro Oda apparently gets his way, as he doesn’t want the remake to simply copy his original
Instead, Wit Studio has opted for its own look,which could almost have come straight out of a children’s book. To achieve this, studio boss Masashi Koizuka has, according to his own statement, primarily put young artists from his team to work on The One Piece. After all, they grew up with One Piece and can incorporate this into their work
When exactly The One Piece will start on Netflix is currently not known.But you probably shouldn’t expect it before 2025.
