UPDATE: Epic Games announced on June 3, 2020 that the live event “The Device” would be moved to Monday June 15, 2020 and Fortnite Season 3 would be moved to Wednesday June 17, 2020. More information about the content can be found here.

Just a few weeks ago, people were looking forward to the first official PS5 event. But now Sony announced that the event was postponed to an unknown time.

“We have decided to postpone the Playstation 5 event until June 4, 2020. We know that players around the world have been looking forward to seeing PS5 games. But we don’t think that now is the right time to celebrate. We’d like to take a step back to allow more important voices to be heard,” the Playstation Channel twittered on the evening of 1 June 2020.
Sony is showing solidarity with the current situation in the USA.
Xbox’s Twitter page retweeted another solidarity tweet from PlayStation saying “We stand together ??”, also sending a signal.

Even before Sony, publishers such as EA Sports announced that they would put their events on hold for the time being.
