Will it be Portal 3? Or a new shooter with puzzle mechanics? One thing is for sure, Valve is working on an unannounced game that is a mystery.
A new game with puzzles and sophisticated AI is being developed at Valve (and yes, the first fans are already dreaming of Half-Life 3, of course). Allegedly, the gameplay will be revolutionary – but what is behind it? We summarise what is known through leaks and official info.

Content creator Faizan Shaikh posted excerpts from the LinkedIn profiles of Valve employees on Twitter. It talks about a previously unannounced game that has been in development since 2021. The profile info reveals a few more details, such as that there will be puzzles and riddles. The gameplay is said to be “ambitious” and “unprecedented” – of course, this is not elaborated on.

How believable is this?
The two LinkedIn profiles shown really exist, as we have checked ourselves. The info posted by the leaker also matches them exactly. They are the profiles of (Michael Anderson), who worked as a level designer at Valve, and (Boyang Zhu), an artist at Valve who mainly has experience with character models.
With novel puzzles and riddles, a Portal 3 naturally suggests itself – or a similar project like Half-Life: Alyx. But it could also be something completely different, possibly (Neon Prime), which is supposed to be a Dota spinoff and third-person shooter. There are numerous rumours surrounding this title, but nothing has been officially announced yet. However, Valve has already secured the trademark rights.

Whereas classic third-person shooters are not necessarily known for their complex and novel puzzles. As long as Valve doesn’t reveal anything, we can only speculate wildly. Perhaps we will be able to write the headline: “Half-Life 3 announced” at some point – we can still dream, can’t we
