Soon a whole slew of exciting games will land in Microsoft’s game subscription, which should satisfy many genre tastes.

Subscribers to Microsoft Game Pass can rejoice: Once again, several new games are making their way to Game Pass this month. Some of them have been known for a while, but some are brand new.

We’ll give you a brief introduction to all of the games, so you can get an idea of whether they might be something for you.

Sea of Stars

  • Genre: Role-playing game
  • In Game Pass as of: August 29, 2023
  • For which platforms? PC and Xbox

The creative minds behind the popular The Messenger have a very interesting looking old school RPG in the pipeline with Sea of Stars . Visually, the game is strongly reminiscent of the long-gone 16-bit days of the early 90s.

The story is told by two so-called children of Solstice. These have the power of the sun and the moon and are accordingly powerful. Their goal is to put a stop to a sinister alchemist. To do this, they must defeat the forces of darkness in turn-based battles.

Of course, as the adventure progresses, your party will grow to include more members. Each party member has a specific role with unique skills that you will want to use skillfully.

    Everspace 2

    • Genre: Action
    • In Game Pass as of: August 15, 2023
    • For which platforms? Xbox

Do you like open worlds? Are you into sci-fi? Not averse to action? If you nodded your head three times, you should give Everspace 2 a chance once the space action game lands in Game Pass.

The gameplay is quickly explained: you fly around in space, fight all sorts of nasties and keep expanding your spaceship fleet. All of this is wrapped up in a storyline that ties in seamlessly with the events of the predecessor.

Most of all, the visuals worth seeing and the fast-paced, loot-focused gameplay can convince many fans. On Steam, the game has (over 7,000 positive user ratings).

Which games will still end up in Game Pass in August 2023?

These were the highlight, but that doesn’t mean we’ve reached the end yet. There are still some more interesting and new titles to discover:

      • Celeste: An excellent platformer that revolves around the girl Madeline, who wants to climb a mountain and conquer her own fears. In our review, it even scored a proud 90 points! (Available August 1, 2023 for PC, Cloud and Xbox)

      • A Short Hike: Do you just want to relax? As a bird-like character, you can hike, climb, fly and more, exploring the peaceful mountain landscape of Hawk Peak. (Available August 3 for PC, Cloud and Xbox)

      • Broforce Forever: Pure action, straightforward shooter – call it what you will: Broforce is a feast for the senses if you like to pull the trigger finger. And cool heavy metal music is thrown in for good measure. (Available August 8 for PC, Cloud and Xbox)
