We bring you the most exciting games coming to Steam this week – including the first new Lord of the Rings game in six years.

A lot of exciting new games are waiting for you on Steam again this week – and as always, we show you the best ones. It will be especially exciting for fans of The Lord of the Rings. Because with The Lord of the Rings: Gollum the first game in the popular since Middle-earth: Shadow of War.

Highlight of the Week: The Lord of the Rings: Gollum

Genre: Stealth Adventure – Developer: Daedalic Entertainment – Release: May 25 (Steam)

The new game by the German developer Daedalic sounds pretty exciting at first, especially for Tolkien fans: You slip into the role of the nasty Gollum and thus experience his story from a completely new perspective.

The gameplay mainly revolves around sneaking, climbing and jumping, there is no fighting. But the title promises a lot of story: You can switch between the two personalities Gollum and Sméagol and thus make decisions that influence the course of the story.

However, the game has already been eyed very critically since its announcement in 2019. The technology does not seem up to date, the hardware requirements are nevertheless immense and whether the title can at least convince playfully is completely open.

This week will be really tricky for HdR fans – whether Gollum will still be able to surprise or whether any anticipation will die faster than Boromir, you can find out on Thursday in our review
