We show you the most exciting releases on Steam this week. In addition to tactics fans, survival and strategy players will also get their money”s worth.

This week again countless games are released on Steam and like every week we pick out the most exciting releases of the week for you. This time especially fans of tactics games get their money”s worth, but also survival players get their money”s worth.

The highlights of the week

Darkest Dungeon 2

(genre: turn-based tactics – developer: Red Hook Studios – release: May 8 (Steam))

Darkest Dungeon 2 is not entirely new, after all, the dark round tactics role-playing game has already been available as an Early Access version in the Epic Store for about a year and a half. However, those who have been waiting for the Steam version can grab it starting this week, because the Early Access ends at the same time as the release on Valve”s platform and version 1.0.

is launched.

In contrast to its grandiose predecessor, you won”t be upgrading settlements and sending groups of heroes into the dungeons that give the game its name, but will instead be taking a roguelike road trip through the doomed game world in a carriage.

However, the challenging and extremely entertaining turn-based battles are once again the focus here.

Mechabellum

(Genre: Round Tactics – Developer: Game River – Release: May 11 (Steam/Early Access))

The Mechabellum, distributed by Paradox, has been available for free as a beta version for several months – and the game is apparently very well received. YouTubers/streamers like HandOfBlood, Bonjwa and Pietsmiet play the Auto Battler up and down, and you can also find many players and opponents in the game.

The gameplay is quickly explained: you buy and place troops and giant mechs turn by turn, which then fight each other automatically. Tactical thinking is paramount here, because all units counter multiple unit types at once.
