Easter is over, but also in the week after there are some colourful eggs waiting on Steam: The releases of the week.

So, after Easter is before Easter. We hope you”ve been busy collecting eggs or, alternatively, that you”ve given up on the whole bunny hunt and have been gambling instead. Speaking of gaming: The holidays aren”t slowing Steam down, of course. There are also some pretty exciting games coming out this week that you should keep an eye out for, such as a new Sherlock game for story fans. So let”s take a look at this week”s releases.

Highlight of the week: Total War: Warhammer 3 – Chaos Dwarfs

  • Genre: Strategy
  • Developer: Creative Assembly
  • Release: 13 April 2023
  • Price: 25 Euro

I have never experienced a faction like the Chaos Dwarfs in 20 years of Total War, writes our strategy expert Fabiano in his review of the Chaos Dwarfs DLC. And Fabiano is very hard to impress – not even the cheese spaetzle at our last Christmas party could manage that. 25 euros sounds like a hefty price at first glance, but Total War: Warhammer very, very rarely gets such a large nation. And yes, there”s a pun in there somewhere.

The Chaos Dwarfs expand the main game with … the Chaos Dwarfs, but that doesn”t just mean 26 new units, a new starting position and so on. The Chaos Dwarfs also bring their own unique mechanics, such as an extremely branching economic system and the hunt for the Hashut”s Drill, which you can use to turn campaign luck in your favour.

The Chaos Dwarfs will be released on 13 April 2023, as I said for 25 euros. Currently you can still get a 10 percent discount if you buy before release.

More exciting Steam releases of the week

If you”re not in the mood for strategy, there are a few other interesting candidates this week. Don”t expect too many releases though, aside from the big names the week looks rather lukewarm. Let”s go through it.

    Monday, 10 April 2023

    • Cynthia: Hidden in the Moonshadow is very clearly inspired by Genshin Impact and Zelda: Breath of the Wild, so it”s a colourful 3D adventure with puzzles, battles and so on. Maybe it”ll be nice.

      Tuesday, 11 April 2023

      • After the pretty good Chapter One, Frogwares” next Sherlock blockbuster is coming up with Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened this time a mix of Sherlock and Call of Cthulhu.

      • Coal Mining Simulator: You must have always wanted to rake in coal in a mine. Now you can do it virtually.

      • Tron: Identity: Visual novels are probably the very last thing you”d instinctively think of with Tron, but hey … better than nothing.

        Wednesday, 12 April 2023

        • Wildfrost is a tactical roguelike deckbuilder that is a bit reminiscent of Hearthstone in pure visual terms.

          Thursday, 13 April 2023

          • Total War: Warhammer 3 – Forge of the Chaos Dwarves: As already mentioned, the first really big DLC for Warhammer 3 will be released on Thursday.

          • Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Vol. 1 & 2 finally ports the GBA classics to modern systems. Both collections will be released simultaneously on 13 April, and as a bundle everything together will cost 60 euros.

          • The fantasy city builder Fabledom moves into Early Access on 13 April.

          • Vampire Survivors: Tides of the Foscari: With eight new heroes, Vampire Survivors gets some exciting DLC here.

From Friday onwards, as usual, only odds and ends will be published somewhere between asset-flip and hentai-butze. Is there something for you this time? Or will you wait until the end of April for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to finally be released and save us after a long dry spell? Feel free to drop us a line in the comments.
