What are you playing this week? We’ve picked out a few hot properties for you that will be released on Steam in the next few days.

What should I play this week? As if that question wasn’t hard enough to answer, this week we’re adding a second one: When should I play this week?

Because gamescom 2023 is just around the corner! For you, that means meeting like-minded people, sweating, queuing for hours and telling them at the end how great everything was. We’re already in the throes of trade fair fever, but we haven’t forgotten our everyday duties.

That’s why, as usual, we’ve picked out the most exciting new releases on Steam this week. This time our overview is almost overflowing with exciting games. Have fun browsing!

Highlight of the week: Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon

(Genre: Action – Developer: FromSoftware – Release: 24 August 2023 (Steam)

Armored Core 6 is the new game from FromSoftware (Elden Ring, Dark Souls). Instead of sword, bow and arrow, this time you fight with laser shotgun, plasma rockets and machine gun. You also don’t wear armour… well, you do, but you’re not protected by a suit of armour, but by thick steel armour. Because you’re in a mecha, a combat robot armed to the teeth!

In terms of gameplay, you can expect what you can expect from FromSoftware: Badass boss fights, lots of on-screen deaths, trial-and-error and plenty of atmosphere. Above all, adapting your battle colossus to the challenge at hand is a central aspect of the gameplay.

Tip for all gamescom-goers: You can play Armored Core 6 for yourself at the Bandai Namco stand (Hall 6.1).

Further exciting new releases

Those who don’t like mechs with guns don’t have to throw their mouse, keyboard or controller against the wall. There’s a whole bunch more titles coming out this week that might be something for you.
