A week full of potential hits awaits, role-playing and strategy fans should take a particularly close look
Survival games are back in vogue on Steam: last week Palworld hit like a bomb, and this week Enshrouded could be the next title to take Valve’s gaming platform by storm.
But strategy and action fans will also get their money’s worth this week, as there are some big names waiting for you.

Highlight of the week: Enshrouded
Genre: Open-World-Survival – Developer: Keen Games – Release: January 24 (Steam / Early Access)
With Enshrouded, the first big open world 2024 is in the starting blocks: The survival game from German studio Keen Games presents you with a hand-built game world of around 25 square kilometers with various biomes that you can explore and reshape solo or with up to 15 other players.
A core aspect of the game is the innovative building system, which offers almost unlimited possibilities thanks to the use of a specially developed engine and voxel technology. Everything in the world can be destroyed and manipulated, which is intended to take creativity in base building to new dimensions.
Otherwise, Enshrouded is characterized by a mixture of survival and role-playing elements. You not only collect all kinds of resources and craft for all you’re worth. You also gain experience, improve your character stats and select abilities from an extensive skill tree to develop roughly in three directions – warrior, ranger or mage.
