This week on Steam, fresh game highlights, long-awaited releases, and perhaps the co-op highlight of the year await you.

We’ll show you the most exciting releases coming to Steam in the next week – from small-scale building simulations to big-name titles. Many of you have been eagerly awaiting one title in particular: the latest co-op adventure from the It Takes Two makers Hazelight Studios.

But that’s not all: as every Monday, we want to show you the most interesting new releases on Steam that you shouldn’t miss this week.

Highlight of the week: Split Fiction

(Genre: Action-Adventure (Co-Op) – Developer: Hazelight Studios – Release: March 6 (Steam)

After the huge success of It Takes Two , Josef Fares and his team are now presenting their next co-op adventure with Split Fiction

This time, you take on the roles of the unlikely authors Mio and Zoe, who accidentally find themselves trapped in their own fantasy stories. What follows is a wild adventure that seamlessly jumps back and forth between sci-fi and fantasy. One moment you’re taming cute dragons, the next you’re fighting robots as a cyber ninja.

Split Fiction can be played exclusively in co-op, locally or online, as is usual with Hazelight. A friend pass system also allows a fellow player to join in for free, even if they don’t own the game. In terms of gameplay, you can expect a colorful mix of puzzles, jump-and-run sections, and action-packed segments that require teamwork.

All of this is wrapped up in charming graphics and humorous cutscenes that remind you of a playable Pixar movie. If Hazelight maintains the level of It Takes Two, we could be in for one of the co-op hits of the next few years.

More exciting Steam releases of the week

Monday, March 3

  • Star Crafter (Early Access): Open-world survival game in a sci-fi setting where you can create entire planets and even Dyson rings. You collect resources, build bases and manage energy – but there are no fights, the focus is entirely on construction and exploration.

Tuesday, March 4

  • Two Point Museum: The creators of Two Point Hospital and Campus let you manage your own museum this time. You curate exhibitions – from dinosaur skeletons to Egyptian artifacts – and have to manage staff and budgets cleverly. Of course, much goes delightfully awry in typical Two Point humor: visitors are frightened by ghosts in the horror wing or a T-Rex exhibit tears up the hall.

  • Knights in Tight Spaces: Behind the title is a turn-based deck-building tactics game in the same universe as the indie hit Fights in Tight Spaces. Instead of modern spy action, it features medieval hand-to-hand combat: you plan the moves of your team of knights in narrow dungeons full of bandits and demons using a deck of cards. In terms of gameplay, the game is reminiscent of a mixture of Slay the Spire and XCOM.

  • Grand Theft Auto 5 – Enhanced Edition: After three years, Rockstar’s next-gen upgrade for GTA 5 is finally coming to PC. The open-world epic of Los Santos has been given chic ray tracing, faster loading times, DLSS support, and other technical improvements. Good news for veterans: owners of the original PC version will receive the upgrade for free!

  • Everhood 2: The colorful rhythm-action-RPG secret returns with an even crazier sequel. Like part 1, Everhood 2 mixes role-playing exploration with trippy music battles – over 100 songs accompany your fights in a shrill, surreal world.

    Wednesday, March 5

    • Wizordum (Version 1.0): Wizordum is leaving Early Access this week and delivering the final episode of its campaign. The game is a classic boomer shooter à la Heretic: as a pixelated battlemage, you shoot your way through monster-infested catacombs at a rapid pace. Instead of shotguns and rocket launchers, you have fireballs, magic crossbows and wands.

    Thursday, March 6

    • Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone (Early Access): The survival action RPG sends you back into the irradiated exclusion zone of Chernobyl. In the huge open world, you fight nightmarish creatures, craft equipment and build a base while searching for the mysterious element Chernobylite in different realities.

    • Suikoden I&II HD Remaster: A feast for JRPG veterans – Konami’s legendary PlayStation role-playing games Suikoden 1 & 2 finally return, for the first time on PC! This HD collection includes the first two Suikoden games (from 1995 and 1998) with improved graphics, new comfort features and German text output. You will experience epic stories about war, friendship and the 108 stars of destiny , who will join you as recruitable characters in your fortress.

    • Dragonkin: The Banished (Early Access): An action RPG from a top-down perspective, clearly inspired by Diablo and Path of Exile. Expect frantic hack-and-slash battles and extensive character builds – Dragonkin introduces the Ancestral Grid, a puzzle-like skill system for insane combos. Suitable for ARPG fans.

    • FragPunk: A new challenger enters the arena of hero shooters – and he’s playing with rule-changing cards! FragPunk is a fast-paced free-to-play shooter in which you choose shard cards before each short round. These cards turn the rules of the game upside down: sometimes everyone jumps higher, sometimes every shot bounces further as lightning, sometimes the roles of attackers and defenders are reversed.

      Friday, March 7

      • Sugardew Island: It’s time to relax and get cute as the week draws to a close. Sugardew Island lets you run your own little farm shop – with no time pressure. In this colorful farming sim (from German indie developers), you’ll tend to animals, grow crops, and sell your goods to the cute forest folk who visit the shop. As you complete their requests, you’ll gradually bring the island to life.

Which of the new Steam games are you looking forward to the most this week? Will it be the co-op adventure, a round of museum director, or the nostalgic RPG trip with Suikoden?
