The best week of the month is coming up on Steam – with epic space battles, a beautiful open world and World War II

Last week on Steam looked disappointing at first, but then Hades 2 surprised everyone with its sudden Early Access launch.

This week, however, you don’t have to hope for any unexpected new releases, because we already know: The current week on Steam will be the best of the month and has three big games in store!

The highlights of the week

Homeworld 3

(Genre: Strategy – Developer: Blackbird Interactive – Release: May 13 (Steam))

Homeworld 3 is the latest chapter in GlobalESportNews readers’ favorite sci-fi real-time strategy series that you’ve been waiting 20 years for. The latest installment brings you the familiar combination of strategic depth and spectacular space battles.

Ghost of Tsushima

(Genre: Action-Adventure – Developer: Sucker Punch – Release: May 16 (Steam)

The Director’s Cut of Ghost of Tsushima finally brings the acclaimed adventure of samurai Jin Sakai to the PC. In the 13th century, the Mongols attack the island of Tsushima, the last point of defense off the Japanese mainland.

Your task is to save your homeland as one of the last samurai and liberate your people from the Mongol hordes. But in order to succeed, you must leave classic warfare behind and become the titular spirit.

Note: If you want to play online co-op, you also need a PSN account on PC – a fact that already caused unprecedented review bombing in Helldivers 2.

Men of War 2

(Genre: Strategy – Developer: Best Way – Release: May 15 (Steam)

15 years after the first part catapults you Men of War 2 back into the Second World War. There are a total of three campaigns to choose from: The Allied attack on Normandy, the defense of the Soviet Union and the retreat of the Wehrmacht.

Other important Steam releases of the week

Monday, May 13

  • Gatekeeper (Early Access): A roguelite shooter in the style of Risk of Rain 2, in which you shoot your way through hordes of robots with up to four players and earn upgrades for your weapons.

    Tuesday, May 14

    • The Rogue Prince of Persia (Early Access): The next PoP will be a 2D sidescroller roguelite. The makers of the acclaimed Dead Cells are behind the title, which gives hope that a real insider tip could be waiting here.

      Wednesday, May 15

      • Mullet Madjack: This old-school shooter focuses on fast-paced combat, cool 80s anime visuals and a mullet-wearing hero.

        Thursday, May 16

        • Die by the Blade: In this sword fighting simulation (which has nothing to do with the 90s action adventure Die by the Sword) you fight one-on-one duels against CPU enemies and human opponents. The special feature is the challenging combat system, where every hit can be fatal.

          Friday, May 17

          • Seablip (Early Access): Finally, there’s a small open-world role-playing game in which you want to become a feared pirate. To achieve this, you have to upgrade your ship, hire crew members, go bounty hunting or treasure hunting and much more.
