New trailer, but also release postponement of Stalker 2

Not long ago we reported that the team behind Stalker 2 had resumed work on the survival action game. Despite the war in the developers’ homeland, Ukraine, where many of the male developers are even still stationed and not allowed to leave the country. Part of GSC Game World was able to move at least some of the development to Prague to continue work on Stalker 2. However, after last week’s Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcases came the official announcement that the release of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl would be delayed to an unspecified date in 2023. Many had already expected this, and in view of the current situation in Ukraine and the personal situation of many developers, it is perfectly understandable. And yet, as a consolation, we were presented with a new in-engine trailer and new information about the release.

The new trailer shows the supernatural and mystical side of Stalker 2. Besides a military truck driving on a country road, we see mainly night scenes and a strange storm in the centre of the action. The subtitle of the trailer “The Zone” is also mentioned several times and a narrator frames the events and what is to come. The fact that all this can be seen in real game scenes makes the work of the developers even more impressive, because Stalker 2 already looks damn good and makes us look forward to the finished game.
