Just before the launch of New World, the MMO climbs to almost the top of the Steam charts again – only one game can’t leave it behind.
The release of New World casts its shadow ahead. On 28 September 2021, the gates of the new world will open for all pre-orderers – and if the Steam charts are to be believed, that should be quite a few.
After all, the MMO was able to conquer two top positions in the bestseller list. As usual, Steam counts the normal version and the deluxe version as separate titles, which is why they were able to make such a wide spread in the charts. Only a genuine shooter veteran had to admit defeat.
Are you one of the pre-orderers who can hardly wait for the release? Then pass the time waiting by reading up on everything you need to know about New World in our great overview:

CS:GO is still alive and kicking
One Valve game, of all things, still towers over New World and has thus been able to sell better than any other title in the past seven days: Counter Strike: Global Offensive, or rather the dewy content update Operation Riptide.
The latest purchase DLC brings with it several new features, including the eponymous Operation Riptide, but also new agents, stickers, weapon skins and more. In addition, you can now send queue codes to your friends when playing in private lobbies.
Another change affects arguably the most legendary CS map: Dust2. The view between the T-Spawn and the centre has been blocked by a new wall to make life more difficult for the terrorists. Here you can see what has changed:
The M4A1-S now does more damage to the body and the Deagle does less. And Dualies just got cheaper. And grenades are now droppable.

What else is happening in the Steam charts?
There are no notable surprises or developments in the other places. After Deathloop claimed the top position as a new release last week, the new shooter from Arkane Studios landed in a solid 6th place. The Valve Index VR Kit still seems to find enough buyers to occupy 8th place.
FIFA 22 also shows up among the best sellers shortly before release. For EA’s annual football series, however, it was only enough for 5th place. And two simulators also do the honours: the Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator in 9th place and the Gas Station Simulator in tenth place.
