The Interceptor update is full of great new features and brings new worlds, threats, ships and and and.

No Man’s Sky sends you on a journey through almost infinite expanses – which are now a bit bigger. Whether this sentence is mathematically tenable? No idea, you’ll have to ask an expert. What we can tell you, however, are the most important new features in the Interceptor Update.

What’s in the new update?

The Interceptor Update is presented in under two minutes in the fresh gameplay trailer:

The most important innovations:

  • Mysterious Threat: The Sentinels, the guardians of the No Man’s Sky universe, have fallen victim to a mysterious corruption. You can now explore new worlds infested by this corruption – and mine valuable crystals there.
  • New Space Ships: You can expand your fleet with new Interceptor ships that use previously unseen technologies. If you’re more in the mood for space battles, take on the giant Sentinel ships.
  • New Enemies: In addition to corrupted Sentinel drones, there are other new enemies lurking about, such as machine spiders with flamethrowers. Great.
  • New VR features: Those who play No Man’s Sky on PSVR2 will now get more features and better interfaces

(The complete patch notes) can be read here.

When will Interceptor be released? The big update will be available for download from 5 April 2023. As usual, it is free for owners.

In the meantime, No Man’s Sky has hardly anything in common with the basic game, which was released in 2016. Many huge updates have extremely expanded the universe, introduced completely new features and changed so much that it would go beyond the scope of this article to list everything.

In our March 2023 post-test, find out how the game is doing today and why it almost earned a 90 rating. It’s quite possible that it will clear this hurdle one day, because it won’t be the last big update: According to developer Hello Games, there will be more content in 2023. We will of course keep you up to date and take a look at No Man’s Sky when something big happens again.
