The DLC for Alan Wake 2 and the PC version of Red Dead Redemption are also labeled “Nvidia Game Ready”.

Nvidia is preparing its RTX graphics cards for the arrival of some upcoming heavyweights in video gaming with a new driver. As the company announced in a press release, the Nvidia Game Ready driver 566.03 WHQL is now available for download.

In addition to the official website, you can download and install the driver as always via the Nvidia Geforce Experience or the Nvidia-App (Beta) Incidentally, the Nvidia app is expected to leave beta status later this year, replacing and combining the aforementioned GeForce Experience and the Nvidia control panel:

Dragon Age: The Veilguard with DLSS 3 and Nvidia Reflex

The upcoming release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard is at the forefront of the new Nvidia driver. The GPU manufacturer is taking the opportunity to once again highlight the exclusive features that are possible with an RTX 4000 graphics card.

  • In addition to DLSS 3 for “accelerated performance”, raytracing is of course also included.
  • The reflex feature is also explicitly mentioned, which ensures improved system latency.

Alan Wake 2: The Lake House is also technically based on the main game

The Geforce driver 566.03 also goes into more detail about the second expansion for Alan Wake 2: Just like the main game, “The Lake House” also uses DLSS 3.5 together with Ray Reconstruction. It promises nothing less than atmospheric lighting effects to match the “terrifying survival horror experience”.

Nvidia is releasing the driver for this not a day too soon, as Alan Wake 2: The Lake House was released today (October 22, 2024). In a few days, Alan Wake 2 itself will also celebrate the one-year anniversary of its original release.

In addition, a few other game highlights are mentioned that will debut in the coming days and are to be optimized by the Nvidia driver. Among them is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which is only mentioned in the introductory paragraphs of the Nvidia news – perhaps because Activision itself is primarily promoting AMD’s FSR 3.1.

In addition, Nvidia is promoting the following features for upcoming games:

  • No More Room in Hell 2 (DLSS 3, DLAA and Reflex) from October 22nd
  • The Axis Unseen (DLSS 3 and Reflex) starting October 22nd
  • Red Dead Redemption (DLSS 3 and Reflex) starting October 29th
  • Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered (DLSS 3, DLAA and Reflex) from October 31

More G-Sync support for TVs

Finally, Nvidia lists 32 new screens that are compatible with the proprietary G-Sync technology. The majority are Philips TVs that work in a VRR range of 40 to 144 hertz with the new driver.
