After numerous rumors and leaks, Bethesda has now confirmed that Oblivion Remastered is real and will be unveiled today in a livestream.

The last few weeks have been exciting for Oblivion fans. First, rumors about an Oblivion remake began to intensify, then the first images were leaked from a trustworthy source – the website of developer Virtuos Games.

On Easter Monday, the official confirmation finally came: Bethesda announced a livestream where everything will be revealed .

Here’s how you can watch

The livestream will start on April 22 at 5:00 p.m.German time. It will be broadcast on both YouTube and Twitch:

Although the name Oblivion is not officially mentioned in the announcement, the Roman number 4 and the familiar legionnaire helmet in the background leave no room for doubt.

What do we know about Oblivion Remastered?

Despite the word “Remastered” in the title, the new edition appears to be a complete remake. This is suggested by the leaked images on the Virtous Games website:

Oblivion has apparently been completely transferred to a new engine (probably Unreal Engine 5). Buildings, weapons, and armor have not only been upgraded with HD textures, but have also been given new 3D models.

Now that it has been confirmed that Virtous Games is indeed working on the remake, it is also more likely that an earlier leak will be confirmed. According to this leak, the combat system will be revamped (including blocking, archery, and hit feedback). The user interface is also said to have been redesigned.

We will probably only see how extensive the remake really is tonight in the livestream. The wording “everything will be revealed” suggests that Oblivion Remastered will be presented in detail and no questions will be left unanswered.

Since rumors have repeatedly mentioned an imminent release, it is also possible that Oblivion Remastered will be released immediately after the stream.
