The highly anticipated tactical shooter Gray Zone Warfare has entered its first Early Access phase today. At the moment, however, only selected testers are allowed to play

Helicopter landing operations, jungle sneaking games, battles with enemy players and bots. The upcoming tactical shooter Gray Zone Warfare wants to offer you all of this – rounded off in a beguilingly beautiful Southeast Asian island setting.

With its focus on realism and strategic approach Gray Zone strikes an easily recognizable tone similar to its spiritual role models Tarkov and Arma You can see for yourself what awaits you in the gameplay video below

But it’s not just Tarkov veterans who seem to have hit a nerve with Gray Zone. The game is currently one of the most requested titles on Steam And shooter fans won’t have to wait much longer, as the work of Czech studio Madfinger Games is set to be officially released this year

Content creators play first

Today, Gray Zone Warfare has entered its first Early Access round But access is limited. Because instead of inviting all willing shooter fans to a round on the island paradise, developer Madfinger is using this week for an advertising campaign

As the studio announced, this week’s test phase is an event specifically for VIPs, influencers and other content creators and their friends. They will test the game under real-life conditions and promote it through streams on Twitch, YouTube, etc.

However, there will be several more opportunities in the future for all other players to put Gray Zone Warfare through its paces.

What does Gray Zone actually offer?

Gray Zone Warfare is a mixture of extraction and classic tactical shooter, i.e. a PvEvP game. We have to secure loot and keep both bots and other players at bay

If you believe the statements from Madfinger Games, Gray Zone aims to do nothing less than revolutionize the first-person shooter genre and should be able to compete with Escape from Tarkov in terms of tactics and realistic weapon handling.

However, while Tarkov and Arma are set in an urban, Eastern European setting, Gray Zone takes you to Lamang Island. A fictional island somewhere in Southeast Asia, roughly based on Laos and Vietnam

The variety of landscapes is correspondingly large: dense jungle, open fields, mountains, but also densely populated urban areas, all of which you can explore freely. In total, the map will cover an area of 42 square kilometers
