What is the Loguetown arc?
In chapter 96 of the manga, Luffy and friends reach the densely populated island of Loguetown. The legendary pirate king Gol D. Roger was once executed there. Of course, a new environment also brings new enemies in the form of the Navy members Smoker (Callum Kerr) and Tashigi (Julia Rehwald).
You’re wondering why Loguetown is only visited in season 2?In fact, showrunner Steven Maeda (Lost, CSI: Miami) explained at the time that the production simply lacked time and money. However, Maeda did not want the important storyline to be neglected and decided to save the story for another season.
What’s next for One Piece?
The new season is set to arrive “later this year,” and a few new actors have already been confirmed: Charithra Chandran (Eternals, Bridgerton) will play the role of Vivi in the live-action series, while Joe Manganiello (True Blood, Magic Mike XXL) has been cast as Crocodile and Lera Abova (Anna: The Agent, Exterritorial) as Nico Robin.
