1999 saw the release of Outcast, a moderately successful but now cult open-world game that is still praised today for its technology at the time and the detailed design of its alien world. Outcast 2 is being developed by the same studio over 20 years later. During the THQ Showcase 2022, the publisher unveiled a new gameplay trailer that featured plenty of open world scenes. The hero of the predecessor is also back, but has a few new gadgets in his luggage.
