Riot Games is apparently planning an update in Valorant, adding a brand new weapon for the first time.
The game Valorant is getting a very special update. A data leak hints at a new firearm with screen shots and hints. In the past, Riot always released big updates and new features like new maps or agents.
This time, developer Riot Games is trying to enrich the game with a firearm and drastically change the previous weapon meta. What can the weapon do? In what situation will gun be good?
What has been revealed?
Yesterday screenshots and videos of new skins were published on X (former Twitter). In the familiar purchase menu, a new weapon in the category of sniper rifles can be seen. Until now, players were only able to buy a Marshal or an Operator.

Riot seems to want to add a medium priced weapon to the game, priced between the Marshall and the expensive guns like the Vandal or Phantom at 2400 credits.
What can the gun do?
The new precision rifle has the name Outlaw and costs 2400 credits. At this point, there is no gameplay or video footage of the weapon available, but the Valorant community is already making speculations about how the new weapon will work.
In the preview image, the weapon has a long barrel, and a short sight. Players therefore suspect a Western-style semi-automatic weapon or a resemblance to weapons like the Lockwood Mk 2 marksman rifle from Call of Duty Modern Warfare.

In addition, players assume that the weapon will do more damage than the Marshal but unlike the Operator, will not be able to take down players in one shot. Due to the short sight, many assume a Guardian-like weapon, but with more damage, range and a sight.
What impact will the weapon have?
A new weapon in Valorant would definitely be a breath of fresh air. Although Riot Games adjusts the strength or cost of weapons, the meta in the game hardly changes. The new sniper rifle could be a useful tool in the hands of a pro to fight enemies with other rifles like the Vandal or the Phantom. Furthermore, the weapon could be put to good use to build up or extend a cash advantage.
