Outriders Patch Update

On 25 May, the postponed update is due to be released, which, among other things, aims to fix the annoying damage bugs. And the developers reveal even more about upcoming fixes.

Many players have high hopes for the next patch for Outriders. For weeks they have been waiting for developer People Can Fly to fix the severe damage bugs that make the shooter partially unplayable. The release of the update is planned for 25 May. We collect for you what is still in the patch – and what is not.

The developers do not officially number their patches, but for the sake of simplicity it has become customary to name the updates anyway. The next patch is therefore often classified as patch 1.08.

These are the problems the patch is supposed to address

The next update was supposed to be released on 20 May, but the developers found some serious problems in the last few metres before the release. These have apparently been fixed, so the patch is ready for release. There are no patch notes yet, but some info on the official Reddit, including:

Damage: Outriders has massive problems with the correct damage calculation. This can lead to players falling down after only one enemy hit, even if they have a huge life bar. Many users also complain about bugs in hitboxes or damage scaling, sometimes they can no longer complete levels that were definitely manageable before. These bugs are supposed to be the main topic of the new patch and will hopefully be a thing of the past. Until then, we have possible workarounds for you.

Crash fixes: Outriders still doesn’t run stable for all players, so the update is supposed to fix more bugs that can lead to crashes.

Outriders has sold excellently despite technical problems. A successor therefore seems as good as assured now.

These problems are not yet fixed

In the Outriders Reddit, the developers have also listed some issues that are known but will be addressed in later updates. Unfortunately, you will have to wait longer for the following bugs and problems:

Drop Rates: Many players would like to have higher drop chances for legendary equipment. According to the community manager of Outriders, there will “hopefully” be more information about this soon, but no corresponding changes are planned for the next patch.

Update for Stadia: Outriders suffers from bugs and problems on Google Stadia that do not appear in other versions. Among other things, crossplay still doesn’t work, and fewer patches have been released than for PC and consoles. The next patch will apparently not change anything in the Stadia edition of Outriders, but there should be news in the foreseeable future.

Trickster glitch: Some players report that they can no longer move their trickster after using the Cyclone Slice. The developers are aware of this bug, but it will not be fixed in the next patch.

Pre-order equipment: For some players, the “Hell’s Ranger” package they received as a bonus for pre-ordering disappears. According to the developer, this bug is already on the radar, but the search for the causes is still ongoing. It could be due to a memory problem or the servers.

When will the patch go live? The official Outriders account has announced on Twitter that the update will be applied from 5pm. According to plan, it should take half an hour, during which time the servers will presumably go offline.

At least the recovery of missing inventories is progressing. The worst bug so far, which could delete your entire equipment, has been fixed in the meantime, and since then players have been gradually getting their lost items back.
