The roadmap is here: What’s next?
Pocketpair has released a roadmap to mark the anniversary, showing upcoming features and content for the early access version of Palworld. The main focus is on new gameplay mechanics and optimizations to further improve the gaming experience.
Here are the highlights of the announced updates:
- Co-op cross-play: You will finally be able to play together on different platforms.
- Pal transfers between worlds: The option to transfer your captured pals between different save games or servers will be introduced.
- Final boss and endgame scenario: At its center is a new challenge at the mysterious World Tree, which has already been teased several times in Early Access.
- More ways to improve Pals: New mechanics should allow you to make your monster companions even stronger.
- New content: In addition to more Pals, there will also be new technologies that you can research.
- More collaborations: After the first collaboration with Terraria (see the video above), more are to follow. Exactly which games is still a secret for the time being.
- Technical Improvements: Optimizations of the user interface, game performance and placement of world objects should ensure an even smoother gameplay.
Pocketpair has proven time and again over the past year that they are developing their game in an exemplary manner. Major updates like the introduction of the islands of Sakurajima and Feybreak brought a breath of fresh air to the game. The Feybreak update in particular was a huge success, with Palworld seeing over 212,000 concurrent players on Steam during the launch period – though these numbers are far from the phenomenal 2 million concurrent players at the early access launch.
