Path of Exile 2 wasn’t hard enough for him, so he sat through dozens of skill tutorial videos. But after beating the boss fight, a player has to sweep up the shards.
An earthquake is the spectacular end to an almost unbelievable story in Path of Exile 2.
On Reddit, a player reports on his odyssey, which resulted in $ of destroyed hardware worth several hundred dollars.

Endless tutorial videos as a new difficulty level
“Did you know that you can have as many tutorials as you want and nobody can stop you?” Reddit user Dmask13 drew attention to a special feature of the early access version of Path of Exile 2 with this post as early as mid-December.
In this game by Grinding Gear Games, you can have skills explained to you with the help of short sample videos, the content of which is repeated after a few seconds. The clips start in a separate window and can be moved around on the screen as you like as part of the configurable user interface:

The PoE2 community reacted with amusement and egged on Dmask13 to use the crammed display (and the simultaneous sound of over a dozen videos) to complete one of the endgame maps.
A day later, he at least managed to defeat the game’s first boss, a giant undead butcher, in this way. In the user’s Reddit post, you can see how he managed, just from a tiny section of the screen in the middle (and with an additional automap overlay),:

No easy task, after all, 25 (!) of the tutorial videos were running in the foreground at the same time. But the worst was yet to come.
“No PoE for a month or so”
A week after these events, Dmask13 returns to the Path of Exile 2 forum, but this time for a much sadder reason: His glass desk has fallen over and his two monitors have crashed to the floor – broken.
As the user explained afterwards, an earthquake had occurred.The glass top was destroyed and the PC setup, worth around $200, was broken. In addition to the screens (each worth around $70), the gaming mouse (about $50) is also no longer usable and the shop window on the side of the computer case (which is also made of glass) was damaged. Dmask13 writes:
“I hope my [Nvidia RTX, editor’s note] 3070 survived it.”
Dmask13 bought the desk cheaply, for “100 dollars or so, more or less”. Whether the problem was poor quality or whether an earthquake might not have toppled more stable wooden variants remains an open question. The user comes from Chile, where he lives in a tectonically active region:
“I live in an earthquake zone, so they’re pretty normal here. Below a 6.9 [on the Richter scale, editor’s note], they’re not even considered earthquakes here, ha.”
Help from the community
The post with the picture of Dmask13’s destroyed PC setup now has over 2,000 upvotes and almost 800 comments. Many express their sympathy – and suggest helping the user financially.
The idea of a GoFundMe campaign could not be implemented due to alleged local restrictions in Chile, but Dmask13 has since set up a Paypal account for donations. “Every contribution is fine. I’m happy if someone donates $1.”
