Payday 3 has not been the success the developers hoped it would be. Now they have announced how they intend to change that
Even before its release, we feared that Payday 3 would have problems competing with its predecessor. The assumption proved to be true and now Payday 2 actually has more active players than the current series spin-off
In order to change this, the developers announced Operation Medic Bag a few weeks ago, with a particular focus on feedback from the community. The specific contents have now been announced via the (official website)

Most of the customizations and content of Operation Medic Bag
will be released 2024 There is no more precise date yet. It has only been announced which changes to the roadmap will be targeted first:
First adjustments
You can expect the following content and improvements first:
- Recurring small waves of content
- Controller improvements
- Equipment can be renamed
- Rotating Sneak Modifications
- Kick tuning
Fast Game
will be added- Not-ready button
- First Play Feature
- Players can be added to the party after a completed round
- Daily activities with rewards
- Mask vending machine with weekly rotating content
- Improvements for the communication wheel
More content and improvements for 2024
Single player and offline mode: The new mode will be released in two phases. First, a single-player mode will be added, but it will still require an internet connection. Some time later, another update will be released that will allow you to play without an internet connection
Challenge-based progress: Challenges will be largely removed and replaced with a progression system linked to Heist completions. The remaining challenge framework will be used to obtain some special cosmetic items in the future
New content: In addition to three new DLCs, there will be another free Heist, several skill series, cosmetic items, rewards and a free light machine gun.
Stability, matchmaking and server browser: New social features are planned as well as a reorganization of matchmaking. In addition, the server browser will be given a makeover based on the Crime.Net from Payday 2
UI redesign: Almost the entire UI is to be redesigned. Players should be able to better see what is happening around them
What comes next
Unreal Engine 5 and in-game store: As soon as the developers are satisfied with the adjustments, they want to upgrade to Unreal Engine 5 and add an in-game store. The latter is already planned for 2025
