After quite a few years, PewDiePie is knocked off the throne. MrBeast has the most subscribers on YouTube with more than 112 million.
For years, Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg had the most subscribed channel on YouTube. Earlier this week, however, another content creator from the US overtook the 33-year-old Swede. Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson now leads the way.
Back in July, MrBeast cracked the 100 million subscribers mark on YouTube, already closing in on PewDiePie. The 24-year-old American now has over 112 million subscribers, leaving PewDiePie behind with 111 million fans. MrBeast thus has the most subscribers on YouTube as a single person.
Back in August, PewDiePie hoped that the American content creator would soon overtake him: “He deserves it. I really hope he gets it.” At the time, the Swede said he had been YouTube-retired for two years: “Come on, I’ve been retired for two years. I can’t wait for it to be over.” On MrBeast’s current milestone, neither content creator has yet to speak out.

MrBeast attracted attention on YouTube with his gigantic actions and challenges. In November 2021, the YouTuber recreated the successful Netflix series Squid Game and presented the winner with $456,000 in prize money. In his videos, MrBeast often gives away expensive goods such as smartphones, tablets and consoles or simply gigantic sums of money. The former number one PewDiePie was successful with gaming and Let’s Play content.
