One of the best theme park simulations will be continued in fall 2024. We have the first trailer and all known information about the release and new content
Numerous fans have been waiting years for this:Now Planet Coaster 2 is really coming! The sequel to the popular amusement park simulation from Frontier Developments will be released even earlier than many would have guessed – in 2024.
This is not the only good news from the reveal. A big fan wish is also coming true, because in Planet Coaster 2 younot only build roller coasters, but also water parks. With slides, adventure pools and everything else that goes with it.
We summarize everything important. Here is the splashy trailer:
This is new in Planet Coaster 2
Waterparks: The water attractions already mentioned are the biggest innovation so far. Aquapark and roller coasters can also be combined in the same park, so that your guests can whizz past the pools upside down
Better construction options: Planet Coaster already offered an impressive amount of freedom thanks to modular construction. The successor aims to go one better, both with new pre-built attractions and new options for creative self-builds
Better management:Planet Coaster 2 will expand your management options. As in Planet Zoo, for example, there are “heat maps” that show you where problems are currently occurring in the park. You’ll also have to pay attention to safety, cleanliness, sufficient sun protection for your guests, etc.
First-person view:Another fan wish comes true, there is now a real mode in which you roam the park from the perspective of a visitor. In Planet Zoo and Planet Coaster you had to play tricks to do this until now.
As in its predecessor, there are sandbox and franchising game modes. Frontier also encourages you to share your self-built attractions with others. You can also build the same park with friends, but not at the same time
When will Planet Coaster 2 be released?
An exact release date has not yet been set, but it should be as early as fall 2024 The last three park simulations from Frontier were each released inNovember, and we expect this to be the case this time too.
Planet Coaster 2 will be released forPC, PS5 and Xbox X/S– so there should also be a technical leap forward.
DLCs are guaranteed to be released regularly for years to come, as has become customary with Frontier simulations. For example, ghost trains and movie sets were added to the predecessor
The first Planet Coaster was released in 2016 and has an impressive 91 percent positive user rating on Steam. However, there was some criticism, such as the less challenging franchise mode and technical problems, especially with large parks. How do you like the combination of water and amusement park that Planet Coaster 2 brings to the table? What improvements are you hoping for?
