The cyberpunk adventure with a cat is played through pretty quickly. If you want to play Stray again, these mods make for a completely different experience

Cats are just about everyone”s favourite. Even more so, apparently, when they explore an enigmatic cyberpunk world full of robots. The adventure Stray has been letting players go exploring as four-legged creatures since last week and is incredibly well received on Steam with 97 percent positive reviews out of 40,000 and also (our review has almost nothing but praise).

It”s just a pity that the game only occupies a few hours and has hardly any replay value. However, mods that have been released in large numbers since the release could change that for some. We would like to introduce you to some of the most interesting ones here.

You should take a look at these four mods

First Person Mod

One of Stray”s strengths is the incredibly atmospheric cyberpunk world, which is just begging to be explored. If you want to be even closer to the action or really see the world from the cat”s perspective, then you can play from the first-person perspective with this mod. In the linked gameplay video, this looks a bit shaky, but quite impressive.

Where can I get this? You can download the First Person Mod (on the website Nexusmods) if you create a free account there. After downloading, all you have to do is unzip the file into your game folder. More detailed instructions on optional content are included with the mod.

Happy Puppy

Do you like cats but would also like to go exploring with another four-legged friend? Then check out Happy Puppy, where your cat is replaced by a little dog. It even barks instead of meowing. However, the mod is not quite finished yet and there are still more features and improvements to come.

Where can I get this? You can also get Happy Puppy (on Nexusmods) . To install the mod you just have to unzip the downloaded file into the folder Stray/Hk_project/Content/Paks

Colorful Preset

If the cyberpunk world of Stray could use a little more colour for your taste, then take a look at this graphics mod. With a few small changes to the colour correction, it makes for much richer colours, which makes a big difference in some scenes – such as the one above. Whether you like it or not is, of course, a matter of taste.

Where can I get this? Colorful presets are also available (at Nexusmods). However, the installation is a bit more complicated here and you”d best look at the instructions in the (description at Nexusmods

Calico Cat

Our last mod is representative of many others. Because even now you can transform your cat into many different species with a mod. Whether it”s the spotted quadruped presented here, a (furless Sphynx cat) or the lasagna lover (Garfield in cartoon look): You already have a lot of choice. Many of the mods, like Calico Cat, were created based on real-life models.

Where can I get it? Calico Cat can be found like all other mods on Nexusmods. Again, just unzip the downloaded file into the following folder in your game directory: Stray/Hk_project/Content/Paks

If you are looking for another cat, just look (at the mods) for Stray, still it is quite clear here
