In Pokémon GO, there are again changes to the field research tasks in the month of August 2021. We took a look at which quests you can expect this month and which of them you should use
What is it about? In connection with the change of the month, there are often new field research tasks or changed rewards when solving the quests in Pokémon GO. You can obtain these tasks by turning the PokéStop.
All field research tasks in August 2021
The field research tasks cover various areas. Among other things, this can be catching certain Pokémon, but also landing particularly good casts or fighting in Raids. So there should be a suitable challenge for every trainer.
Below, with the help of Leekduck’s overview, we have summarised all the field research from August for you (via Leekduck/reddit). We have divided the tasks into the different categories. All Pokémon marked with an asterisk (*) can also be obtained as Shiny if you’re lucky.
Field research tasks with catching
In these tasks, you should catch a certain amount or type of Pokémon. In the rewards, you will then meet rather unspectacular monsters like Enton. Dratini could still be interesting for you, because it can evolve into a strong attacker.
- Catch 5 Pokémon
- Encounter Small Stone* or Alola Small Stone*
- Catch 7 Pokémon
- Encounter with Karpador*
- Catch a Dragon-type Pokémon
- Encounter with Dratini* or Childworm*
- Catch 5 Pokémon with Weather Boost

- Use 3 Himmihberries when catching Pokémon

Field Research Tasks with Throwing
The Throwing task category, as the name suggests, requires you to have good throwing skills. These range from a simple good throw to several fabulous ones in a row. Of the rewards this month, Pandir should be particularly interesting.
This monster can only be caught through the field research tasks. In addition, it has different fur patterns. If you want to collect Pandir in the different patterns for a complete Pokédex, you should complete this task.
For all those who could not take advantage of the Community Day in June with Kaumalat, there is a chance to get hold of a strong specimen during the field research. Because Knakrack, the further development of Kaumalat, is also one of the best dragon attackers.

Field research tasks with fighting
In the topic of fighting, you are supposed to prove your skills in the fighting league, in raids or against Team Rocket. The encounters with Pionskora and Relaxo are particularly interesting. You will rarely meet these two in the wilderness, but they are both available as Shiny. With a bit of luck, you can encounter a shiny specimen.

Field exploration tasks with buddy/friends
Your buddy and friends will also be involved in the field explorations. For example, you are supposed to earn a certain number of hearts or candies with your buddy or trade Pokémon with friends. In the reward, you can encounter the following monsters:
- Earn 5 hearts with your buddy
- Meet Pixi
- Earn 2 candies while running with your buddy
- Meet Scoppel*
- Earn 3 candies while running with your buddy
- Encounter with Flunschlik or Trasla*
- Swap a Pokémon
- Encounter with Barschwa*

Under this category we have grouped all other tasks. These tasks include hatching eggs, turning PokéStops, leveling up or evolving Pokémon and photographing monsters.
Of particular interest here are Tanhel and Squeak, which can evolve into Metagross and Mamutel. Both are among the best attackers in Pokémon GO.

Field Research Breakthrough in August 2021
As with the field research tasks, the research breakthrough also changes in August. If you have redeemed a field research task on each of 7 days, you will receive the field research breakthrough. In this breakthrough, you will meet the Pokémon Palimpalim in August. You will also receive double XP for redeeming it.
There is no free Remote Raid Pass in this month’s Research Breakthrough. However, you can get one via a promotion box in the in-game shop for one PokéCoin. This will always be available there on Mondays.
