‎Pokémon Unite – How to play Absol

In the new MOBA from Nintendo, the eclipse Pokémon Absol is one of the strongest in the game. The mobile character convinces in Pokémon Unite as a flexible attacker who can level up quickly.

MOBA veterans describe Absol as a top candidate for the Jungle. That’s because it’s one of those Pokémon that rewards players who pursue a more solitary playstyle in the map middle. Absol does not take as much damage as others and offers little to no support in team fights. However, the darkness Pokémon has a lot of mobility, so it defeats a lot of wild Pokémon in the centre and deals a lot of surprising damage.

Absol is one of the fastest monsters in Pokémon Unite with four stars. Thus, the so-called disaster also gets the most out of itself by farming wild Pokémon in the middle and repeatedly supporting the lanes to counter aggressive enemies from the ambush ice cold.

Although Absol can dish out a lot of damage, teamfights should not be its top priority. Rather, the Pokémon should support the teammates with the buffs from the Jungle and provide the surprise moments with its ganks to clear the lane. Afterwards, nothing stands in the way of scoring in the Goal Zone.

Items for Absol

Absol can be improved in different ways with worn items. Those looking to maximise damage are well advised to use the Scope Lens and Attack Weight. The former increases the probability of critical hits, while the attack weight increases the attack after each point in the Goal Zone.

The other obvious option is to use a light stone for more movement speed. After all, being mobile and agile is one of Absol’s greatest strengths. The perfect combat item in this context is the escape button. It allows a short flash to get out of tricky situations. Because Absol can’t take much damage, the escape button is a potential lifesaver.

Attacks for Absol

At level 1, the choice is between feint and slash. Feint provides a sprint on an eight-second cooldown that deals real damage. Meanwhile, Slash increases the chance of critical hits on a six-second cooldown. In general, Feint offers slightly more mobility and options. But if the chance of critical hits is to be doubled, the decision lies with Slash. It depends on the playstyle and the equipped items.

From level 5 onwards, the attack Pursuit is available. With this, Absol charges into an area and pounces on an enemy. Attacking behind the enemy’s back increases the damage dealt and reduces the cooldown at the same time. The other attack choice is double tram, which causes a small teleport and creates clones that fight for Absol. However, Pursuit is a storybook attack for Absol here and should almost always be the right choice.

Level 7 gives the choice of Psycho Blade, which boosts the basic attack damage for three attacks. The other option is Deep Strike, where Absol charges the attack and then attacks. The enemy is dispelled as long as they attack Absol within this attack period. Psycho Blade can still prevail because the guarantee of massive damage offers more advantages.

The crowning glory is the Unite attack Finster Claws. The strongest attack is available from level 9. Here, Absol slashes through himself with energy blades and can displace opponents in the process. This move can be a decisive factor in team fights. With the right timing, a big step towards victory is possible when using this ultimate attack.
