The PS5 will probably get its half-time upgrade soon. According to a reliable leaker, Sony is already waiting in the wings
Rumors of a PlayStation 5 with more powerful hardware have been growing for months. The community has been calling it the PS5 Pro ever since, even though a name is not yet official.
However, it looks like it will be soon, because according to a leaker, the official announcement from Sony is imminent.
PS5 Pro: Announcement on Tuesday?
Leaker Lunatic Ignus has been predicting the State of Play in May and the expansion forBlack Myth: Wukongfor the past few months and is now claiming on his Discord that Sony will announce the PS5 Pro on Tuesday or Wednesday next week (viaWCCFTech).
So hopefully we’ll find out what’s really inside the PS5 Pro by September 11, 2024
But not only that: The official announcement will be followed by a State of Play later in the same month, where “first-party games” will be announced.
According to Lunatic Ignus, a “world premiere” is also planned, although this could also be for the Game Awards in December.
PS5 Pro: Sony confirms the leaked design – indirectly
A few days ago, a seemingly realistic design for the PS5 Pro was already circulating online, published by the well-known leaker BillBil-kun
He allegedly saw the design on a Sony box and made a sketch of it.
First look at the PlayStation 5 Pro via @Dealabs
– Similar design to PS5 Slim
– Slightly thicker, likely uses same face plates
– Digital version for sure, may or may not be a disk drive version
– Expects announcement first half of September(Source:… pic.twitter.com/jEd497IcZa

Shortly afterwards, a resourceful Reddit user created a 3D rendering of the console. You can see it in more detail in the following X post from NIB:
Here’s a PS5 Pro mock-up render by user Dramatic_Experience6 on Reddit.
Based on billbil-kun’s (DealLabs) sketch and details, which were based on official images he has access to but couldn’t share due to copyright, this is most likely very close. PlayStation PS6 PS5Pro pic.twitter.com/O14JrtnSWC

What does Sony have to do with it? Until then, Sony had very little to do with this design, but the PS5 Pro actually seems to look like this, as you can see in an official blog post from Sony.
Among them is a device that, on closer inspection, looks suspiciously like the design we know from BillBil-kun. So we can assume that the PS5 will at least look very similar to what you see in the video above
