Epic hasn’t offered a free game like this in a long time. From Thursday 17 to 24 March 2022, you can get the fantastic psychological horror game In Sound Mind and keep it forever. If you like puzzle and horror games outside the mainstream and are not put off by difficult psychological themes, you should grab it. Until tomorrow, on the other hand, you can still get the rather calming construction simulation game Cities Skylines at the (Epic Games Store). So a very contrasting programme at Epic this week.

Cities Skylines in the post-test: 2022 is even better

In Sound Mind is a psychological horror game from We Create Stuff in which you awaken in an unfamiliar corridor. Completely unaware, you soon meet other victims and discover a terrifying truth. Brutal experiments have been performed on you and the other prisoners. All of them have to do with an experimental form of psychotherapy. Slowly you realise that the world around you is changing, coming to life and hunting you. Nothing is as it seems and you must try to escape the nightmare. Haunted by strange visions that take you on a journey into your own mind, you learn more and more about the dark background of your being and your situation. The horror in these visions is almost unimaginable, but it is up to you to gradually solve the mystery of this bizarre place. Numerous memories, on the other hand, can help you solve the dark mystery.

The mysterious cat named Tonia is a mysterious constant in your psychedelic adventure. I wonder what she’s all about? Besides her, there are also a number of other companions who will keep you company throughout the game. Whether this is ultimately a good thing or not is something to be found out. The focus of In Sound Mind is clearly on a gripping horror experience, peppered with puzzles and mysteries and a journey into the psychedelic self. Definitely not for the faint-hearted, but all the more for the daring. Sensitive topics such as mental health and mental illness are also addressed here, so be warned. But if you’re up for it, you’ll get a video game experience that definitely won’t be duplicated.
