AMD is said to withdraw from the GPU upper class. Because apparently the graphics card manufacturer wants to focus more on the mid-range with Radeon RX 8000
When it comes to powerful gaming graphics cards, only two names are currently mentioned: Nvidia and AMD. Because in the high-end segment, the two manufacturers alone are fighting the battle to be installed in the computers of gamers worldwide.
Even though the absolute upper class is currently reserved for Nvidia’s RTX 4090: Below that, the two rivals are close to each other. But that could change with the upcoming GPU generation.
According to current rumors, AMD no longer seems to want to continue the high-end battle and instead focus on the mid-range. In the meantime, Intel is also a third player in the mid-range.
RX 8000: No high-end cards from AMD?
What happened? The rumor comes from the scene-known leaker Kepler_L2, first picked up by (Videocardz). The claims over the weekend on Twitter:
Navi4 lineup will not have any high-end GPUs. Think of it like RDNA1 or Polaris generation.

Navi4 refers to AMD’s upcoming GPU generation, which will probably be installed in the graphics cards of the RX-8000 series. AMD apparently wants to do without particularly powerful models for this one.
As Kepler describes, this is not the first time. This was also the case with the RDNA1 models of the RX-5000 series and Radeon 400/500 (codename: Polaris). Here, the absolute upper class had also been waived.
केवल नवी 43 और नवी 44 बचे हैं।

What does this mean? Few details emerge from Kepler’s tweet. However, another post by All_The_Watts claims to know details. According to this, AMD will only produce the two GPUs Navi 43 and Navi 44 and will do without Navi 41 and Navi 42.
According to this, the GPUs Navi 31 and 32 installed in the RX 7900 XTX, XT and GRE would not get any successors. The conclusion is obvious that then also no RX 8900, in whatever form, could appear.
The focus would then probably be more on the mid-range market and the APUs installed in consoles.
Is the rumor credible? Kepler, as mentioned earlier, is no stranger to the hardware community. Beyond that, though, it’s also relevant that he’s not alone in his assertion. Two other sources seem to support Kepler’s contribution
It’s almost public knowledge now (and probably will be eventually) but congratulations guys, you did it!
The way things are going soon there really will be only one desktop GPU manufacturer left. Just what you all wanted!

However, the claim is still purely a rumor and not an official statement from AMD. So it is important to remain cautious.
AMD itself has not yet responded to an inquiry from the website Videocardz (which probably won’t change anymore, at least not in the form of concrete information).
Intel is also located in the mid-range. And they could have something neat in store: This graphics card could give us a price-performance hammer in 2023 after all.
Do you believe the rumor that AMD could leave the upper class with RX 8000 behind? Or do you think that’s rather unlikely. What do you think about AMD’s stronger focus on the mid-range and the entry-level segment? With the current graphics card prices, a sensible decision? Or the exact opposite, because you would hand over the high-end segment to Nvidia without a fight? Write us in the comments!
